The Surroundings - Pitztal

Pitztal

A special holiday experience for everyone. The Pitztal Valley with its special family atmosphere and remote mountain landscape is said to be one of the most beautiful and wild side valleys of the eastern Alps.

In Pitztal small and large guests experience special holidays. With its familiar atmosphere and the seclusion of the mountains, the Pitztal is a perfect valley where the whole family can have fun.

Jerzens

Jerzens, a village with approx. 1,000 inhabitants and an area of 30 square kilometers, has developed throughout the year into a modern holiday destination due to the consistent but careful growth and expansion of the skiing and hiking area of Hochzeiger.

Especially during the summer months, it is clear that the village has not lost its original appeal. It has been transformed from a bustling winter metropolis to its origins: a charming Tyrolean mountain village. You will find peace, relaxation, and hours of hiking. A very special highlight in summer is the traditional mountain pasture and the church festival (Almabtrieb) on the second weekend of September.

Sightseeing

The landscape protection area Riegetal is a special highlight with its unique flora and fauna. The Riegetal is a high valley between the peaks of Hochzeiger (2,584 m), Wildgrat (2,971 m), and Hoher Gemeindekopf (2,771 m). A visit to the Zirben Museum, the Zirbenpark, the XP Abenteuerpark, the Stuiben waterfall, and the circular hiking trail around the landscape pond of Kaitanger.

The small town of Jerzens in the Pitztal describes its family-friendly Hochzeiger ski area in particular. Children up to the age of 10 have free access (on presentation of a family passport) to a variety of sunny, hilltop ski runs, 6 kilometers of tobogganing fun and yet absolute snow guaranteed. A walk through the beautiful winter wonderland of Jerzens is an atmospheric experience, especially on snowy days. Cross-country skiing, curling, and ice skating on the slopes complete the winter experience of our guests in Jerzens in the Pitztal.
